So guys, last week my husband and I stayed in Manchester City Centre for two nights, as he was on a business trip and I decided to go with him! It’s amazing as he gets everything paid for so I just turn up for the fun! This time, we were staying right in the city centre in Novotel. I thought I would write a review on our stay so if you guys ever need to stay here, you know ALL about it!
Location wise, you can’t get any handier! It is right in the city centre (in the Chinatown area) and is only an 8 minute walk to the Arndale shopping centre! There is easy access to both Piccadilly and Oxford Road Train stations as well if you need the train. We arrived by taxi on the evening and it took about 25 minutes door to door – costing £22 for a single journey (train is much cheaper, we were just very tired!)
The hotel is very modern and has a contemporary feel to it. We were very impressed with the facilities as there is a good sized gym (with every type of cardio machine along with a few weight machines and dumbbells and a floor area with mats, exercise balls etc), sauna and steam room! It was always quiet when we went, with no one else using these facilities! Downstairs near the reception, there is a bar where you can get drinks, evening meals etc. Each room has ensuite with bath and shower, TV, coffee maker (Ours did not work…unfortunately — the only negative thing!), a mini fridge (you get a free still water and sparkling water each day) and an ironing board and iron. The rooms are really spacious and airy, and come with a chair and desk, as well as safe!
You have to pay for breakfast if you want it, it cost £13.95. It is quite expensive for what you get so I advise you to go out and about and find some nice breakfast places! There are a few around! We love exploring and finding a new place to eat! Because my husband was on business, we got our breakfast for free so we made use of the restaurant. There was a lot of options available, including: full English, continental, section of pastries and muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, fruit juices and smoothies as well as tea and coffee. If you do want breakfast at the hotel, it is served from 6am until 10am. The quiet times are 6am- 8am, after then it gets quite busy.
I thoroughly recommend staying here if you need somewhere right in the city centre of Manchester, you can’t go wrong with Novotel! It has everything you need for a comfortable night stay.
